Jamila Dawson, LMFT

wildfiretherapy@gmail.com

I am an interdisciplinary sex therapist serving folks of all genders and orientations who are looking to shed shame and disconnection and create new sexual and relationship possibilities.

I was inspired by my work in sex education and chose to pursue my Master’s in Clinical Psychology so I could go further in helping people develop healthy relationships with their sexuality. As a sex-positive therapist, I have strong connections to the kink, polyamory, and sex-education scenes in Los Angeles and I am part of the communities I care for. My ability to navigate these roles stems from my commitment to discretion, confidentiality, and the ethical provision of services. Being within these communities allows me to provide truly customized support for my clients and gives me valuable insight into the broader socio-historical systems that shape a person’s present experience of sexuality and relationships.

Additionally, unlike many sex therapists, I’m also a sexuality educator. This means that I don’t focus solely on problems and sexual dysfunctions. I can provide short term coaching in which I answer specific questions about sexual pleasure and provide customized guidance on how to safely navigate new sexual activities and expand your sexual repertoire. Please contact me for more information.

Danza Divina

Summer 2019 Danza Divina was founded by Alondra Taveras aka Island Bruja as an invite-only monthly party hosted by a collective of Black/Indigenous/PoC in DENVER for adults of all racial, ethnic, gender and sexual identities who love black and brown people & culture and wish to get free through the musical traditions of the African diaspora.

This is an intentional community dance ritual where Selecta C & Selecta Sunra spin hip hop, trap, R&B, soul, disco, house, reggaeton, afrobeats, salsa, merengue, bale funk, reggae, dancehall, soca, zouk, etc.

As 2020 continues to shift we find our offerings to the community evolving as well. Our monthly parties are now streamed on our website to be accessible by everyone for FREE!

This time has brought urgency to the necessary collective deep healing work in decolonization and unsettling. Considering this need we created FEEDING THE SENSES - monthly healing workshops where our focus is to center Queer, Femme/Womxn of Color in a safe space that offers community, healing and the tools we all use to do so.
